Our hearts have been so heavy to see so many wildfires ravaging our state. While Californians are no strangers to wildfire season, the damage and loss that has occurred already this year have been unprecedented, and we still have a long road ahead the rest of the fire season. The victims of the fires and the agencies fighting them need our help more than ever.

To lend our support during this challenging time, we are raising funds to support an organization doing incredible work to support frontline firefighters, their families and victims of the fire. We invite you to join us in donating to the California Fire Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. We will match the first $2,500 in donations we raise.

If you’re unfamiliar with the efforts of the Foundation, both in our local community and statewide, here is a quick overview of their programs.

SAVE (Supply Aid to Victims of Emergency) Victim Assistance Fund: This program allows frontline firefighters to distribute SAVE gift cards to victims of natural disasters so that they can purchase basic necessities following loss. Donations to the Foundation have made it possible to increase gift card amounts to $250 each.

California Firefighters Benevolent Fund: This program provides financial support to the brave men and women who continue serving on the frontlines even after experiencing loss or displacement from the fires they are fighting.

California Firefighters and Families: When a firefighter loses their life in the line of duty, the Foundation provides immediate support to both the family and department of the fallen firefighter. Programs such as the California Firefighters Endowment and Daniel A. Terry Scholarship fund help to support future education for children of the firefighter.

To join us in our fundraising efforts, please visit our Facebook page to make a tax-deductible donation. If you’re not able to financially contribute, we would appreciate you helping us spread the word.

Thank you to the brave heroes who continue to keep our communities safe during this challenging time, and the families who make sacrifices for them to do so. We are grateful beyond measure.
